Six teams (Bears, Browns, Chargers, Vikings, Patriots, and Steelers) are on a bye week, and we’re facing three late kickoffs in Week 9. Here’s the lineup:
- Washington Redskins (3-4) at Seattle Seahawks (5-2)
- Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) at Dallas Cowboys (4-3)
- Arizona Cardinals (3-4) at San Francisco 49ers (0-8)
The game of the afternoon is easily the Chiefs and Cowboys, as Alex Smith and Andy Reid look to keep it going in the AFC. The Ezekiel Elliott suspension business continues to be the most comical thing in the league right now, and he’s going to play again.
The Seahawks are being taken more seriously these days after their 1-2 start, especially after acquiring Duane Brown from the Texans right before the NFL trading deadline. It’s crazy to think they need to keep winning to fend off the Rams.
Drew Stanton and the Cardinals take on C.J. Beathard the 49ers out west. That says it all. Since we’re starting to get more serious about playoff position, you’d likely want to root for the Redskins, Chiefs, and 49ers today if you’re a Saints fan.
