If you're a daily fantasy player, before each game I will look at three/four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results). Obviously, Saints QB Drew Brees is a safe QB for daily fantasy leagues, but spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.
So here are two Saints and two Falcons that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from Fanduel.)
RB Alvin Kamara (NO) - $8,500
The Falcons only saw Kamara for one drive this season in their first meeting just two weeks ago, but early signs seemed to indicate that the Dirty Birds really didn’t have a plan for stopping him. Now that he’s back from his concussion and played a seemingly reserved role last week against the Jets, look for him to bounce back in a big away against the Falcons. He’s only $600 cheaper than the most expensive RB available this week, but he could still pay dividends.
RB Devonta Freeman (ATL) - $7,000
Likewise, the Saints weren’t really able to slow down Devonta Freeman much in their last meeting, and after placing LB A.J. Klein on IR earlier this week, it doesn’t look to get much easier for the Saints. Unlike Kamara, Freeman is a solid value play this week as he comes $2,100 cheaper than the most expensive RB available in daily fantasy.
WR Michael Thomas (NO) - $8,200
Michael Thomas is having a great season on his way for his first Pro Bowl, but his numbers against the Falcons in his brief career have been eye-popping. Because of this, Thomas isn’t exactly cheap, coming in only $300 below the most expensive WR available this week, but he’s averaged the third highest PPG in daily fantasy scoring this season.
WR Mohamed Sanu (ATL) - $5,900
This is strictly a value play. With Julio Jones likely shadowed by a healthy Marshon Lattimore most of the game, the Falcons will have to look to other WRs to step up in his place. Sanu should be the primary beneficiary, and coming a whopping $2,600 cheaper than the most expensive WR available this week, you can safely start Sanu in your daily lineups.
