Merry Christmas, folks!
The NFL announced late Sunday night that the two NFC South matchups in Week 17 have been flexed to the late afternoon slots. Originally, the New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers matchup and Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons game were supposed to have noon kickoffs, and will now start at 3:25 p.m. CT.
There’s major playoff implications involving everyone but the Buccaneers, as the Saints clinched a spot with their victory over the Falcons. However, they couldn’t wrap up the division with the Panthers beating the Bucs.
Two things that are certain is that the Panthers and Saints both hold a spot in the postseason. If the Falcons win, they are in. However, the Seahawks can jump them with a victory over the Cardinals.
NFC South crown: The Saints win, and they get the division. They can also win the the division if the Falcons beat the Panthers.
