The New Orleans Saints lead the Carolina Panthers 21-14 entering the 3rd Quarter, in a very important NFC South showdown. The Saints struck first, with the Panthers answering quickly. After trading some three-and-outs, New Orleans would get in business thanks to a 72-yard run by Mark Ingram.
He capped off the drive on a 3-yard touchdown rush to put the Saints up 14-7. New Orleans would also get some defensive help, and go up 21-7 after Drew Brees found Michael Thomas in the end zone on a 10-yard hookup.
The Panthers would eventually answer, as Cam Newton found a wide open Christian McCaffrey to cut the team’s lead to 21-14. The drive was setup because of a Josh Hill fumble, his second lost one of the year (Buffalo).
The team’s look to be in a dogfight for the second half, and a win gives one team a two-game lead over the Falcons.
