As the awards for New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees continue to roll in this season, here is an interesting one that he would most likely prefer didn’t come his way. Sportsfacts.org has released the 2016 NFL All-Penalty Team and Drew Brees is the starting QB.

You can view the full list on their website, but Drew gets the nod here with 10 penalties for 78 yards. It’s unclear exactly the total breakdown of penalties and yards per player, but presumably Drew’s penalties came by way of QB-induced (as in, called on #9) false starts and intentional groundings. It is unclear whether or not Delay of Game calls also fall at the hands of the QB.
In any event, it’s interesting to see the total penalties and yards attributed to Drew, but it’s nothings Saints fans should be worried about. Drew has always and will always try to take advantage of the hard count, resulting in the occasional false start due to his head movement. And any intentional grounding penalty is better than a forced throw under pressure leading to an interception.
