Announced today by the New Orleans Saints social media account and General Manager Mickey Loomis, the team will hold Training Camp at it’s facilities in Metairie, Louisiana. Metairie was the location of training camp for 2009 through 2013 before they signed the contract that took them to West Virginia and the Greenbrier.

Training Camp is scheduled to begin this upcoming July. Owner Tom Benson released a statement concerning the team’s return to more familiar training grounds. “Our entire organization is excited to be returning to hold training camp at our facility in Metairie in 2017. This will be a great opportunity for our passionate fans from throughout the Gulf South to be able to experience the fun, excitement and interaction of Saints training camp as our team prepares for what we expect to be a very exciting season.”

Saints fans certainly have reason to celebrate after many began drawing assumptions and a possible link between the team’s recent string of 7-9 seasons and their training at The Greenbrier. Millsaps college in Jackson, Mississippi was also believed to be in consideration. A full schedule for training camp will be released later this year.
