According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the New Orleans Saints are going to keep checking the market for a free agent linebacker. The Monday morning report said that Alex Okafor will be in the Big Easy for a visit.
#AZCardinals OLB Alex Okafor is visiting #Saints today, source said, as they continue to try to add defense. Played thru a torn bicep in '16

Okafor, the Cardinals former fourth-round pick of the 2013 draft, has also drawn interest from the Dolphins this offseason. He’s played in 41 of 48 games over the past three seasons after just appearing in one during his rookie season. He had 11.5 sacks from 2014-2016, and appeared in 230 defensive snaps and 172 snaps on special teams last year.
There’s no doubting his toughness, as the recently turned 26-year-old played through a torn biceps suffered in August. The Saints brought in Manti Te’o last week, and were reportedly interested in Dont’a Hightower. Te’o left without contract, and apparently a Hightower visit never transpired.
The Saints have made big strides in free agency, but they also need to find a cornerback, pass rusher, and running back.
