There’s been rumors about whether or not the Saints would or should draft a QB in the 2017 NFL Draft. After speculating about a potential reunion with back-up Chase Daniel earlier this offseason, it looks like it might actually be coming to fruition.
#Saints are signing Chase Daniel to a one-year deal, source said.

The Saints look to have their back-up QB set in 2017 now, but it is interesting to note that the reported deal is only a one-year contract. Back-up QB Luke McCown is still on the Saints roster (at least, for now), but McCown would be the only QB on the Saints roster under contract for the 2018 season.
Check back for contract details once they’re announced, but this seemingly closes the door on an early Saints 2017 draft pick getting spent on a quarterback - that is, unless something happen with McCown in the near future...
Oh, and hey: Daniel’s #10 jersey has already been freed up this offseason too...
