According to a source, the New Orleans Saints are hosting free agent inside linebacker Manti Te’o for a visit on Thursday. The Notre Dame product battled injuries during his four-year stint with the Chargers, appearing in just three games in 2016 after tearing his Achilles’ in Week 3 against the Colts.
The Saints have been extremely busy on the first day of free agency, and it’s no shock that they’ve made some strong moves already by landing linebacker A.J. Klein, wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr., and most recently offensive guard Larry Warford. They’ve also been focusing on re-signing Nick Fairley, which they recently locked up on a four-year deal.
Te’o, a former second-round pick, could be brought in on a very low-risk deal that could help him out, and Mike Nolan would be a perfect pairing for a player looking to get back to form. Stay tuned for more as the moves continue to unfold.
