2017 NFL Draft: Day 2 Live Thread

Friday night’s portion of the NFL draft features Rounds 2 and 3. After a ton of shocking moves and picks on the first night, one can only hope for more.

NFL: 2017 NFL Draft Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The 2017 NFL Draft keeps rolling along with Rounds 2-3 this evening. The Green Bay Packers are set to open with the 33rd overall selection, which could be traded away according to reports. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. CST, and can be found on ESPN and NFL Network. Of course, if you’re on social media, you can be 15-20 minutes ahead of the picks.

Teams will have 7 minutes to make their picks in Round 2, and see it reduced to 5 minutes in Round 3. As for the New Orleans Saints, they’ll have three picks at their disposal, and have another big opportunity to fill some big needs.

  • Round 2 (42nd Overall)
  • Round 3 (76th Overall)
  • Round 3 (103rd Overall)

At 11th overall, the team was fortunate (maybe just plain lucky) to have Ohio State’s Marshon Lattimore fall. At 32nd overall, fans were clearly divided on Wisconsin’s Ryan Ramczyk, but the pick does make sense when you think about it. At any rate, what’s done is done, and now all that matters is continuing to build upon a strong draft. The Saints will need to look at a pass rusher, linebacker, running back, and wide receiver, and could easily find some of those players tonight.
