Per the NFL Transaction Report, the New Orleans Saints have waived cornerback Jimmy Pruitt and defensive lineman D.J. Pettway with injury designation. Pruitt, who was an undrafted rookie free agent from San Jose State, was released with a failed physical. Pettway, a pickup from Alabama last season, was designated with a non-football injury.
Pruitt was turning some heads late in training camp last season, but suffered a torn patellar tendon in the Aug. 26 preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. As for Pettway, he didn’t exactly suit up for the team, as he placed on the inactive list prior to training camp.
The Saints officially announced their list of 12 undrafted rookies free agent signings on Monday afternoon, and here’s the recap in case you missed it.
