There were hints of a New Orleans Saints player to be represented in NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2017 on Monday morning, and it’s quarterback Drew Brees. He’s ranked No. 16 entering this year.

Brees came in at No. 30 in 2016 and 2015 after falling from a No. 6 ranking in 2014. Adrian Peterson was the only other Saints player to appear in the countdown, tumbling from No. 5 to No. 98 in the rankings. Obvious snubs include Michael Thomas and Cameron Jordan.
The list has faced plenty of scrutiny, most notably this year by Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, who stated he didn’t belong in the list because of playing in just three games last season. Luke Kuechly, the star linebacker for the Panthers, came in at No. 20 despite playing in just ten games.
I played 3 games... this list is a joke. https://t.co/KnKDX1p816

Brees had a very strong season last year, putting up some of his best numbers since the 2011 season.
