Good thing they still have 16 games to play.

The first betting lines are out for playoff odds for the 2017 NFL season from Bovada, an online sports gambling website. The New Orleans Saints have 2/1 odds against making the playoffs, the lowest among teams in the NFC South.

Not surprisingly, the defending NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons come in with the best odds of making the postseason, at 23 in favor, and the only team in the division favored to make the playoffs. The Carolina Panthers’ betting line is even for making the playoffs, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 8/5 against.

Of note, the team with the highest odds of making the playoffs is the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots, coming in at 1/30 in favor. To the shock of absolutely no one, the Cleveland Browns are picking up the rear, 1/50 against making the playoffs.

I guess according to the odds makers the Saints shouldn’t even bother lacing up their cleats this year...

It’s a good thing there’s still an entire regular season of football to be played.
