For the second year in a row, the New Orleans Saints have a Week 5 Bye in this year’s NFL regular season. Their first four games are on the road against the Minnesota Vikings, home versus the New England Patriots, and back-to-back road games against the Carolina Panthers and Miami Dolphins.
This stretch will obviously be tough for the Saints, first opening the season against the Minnesota Vikings, in what will be the homecoming for Running Back Adrian Peterson, so emotions will clearly be high. Then the Saints get to open the Super Dome against the defending Super Bowl Champion Patriots, this time welcoming back Wide Receiver Brandin Cooks. Next the Saints get a tough divisional match-up against the 2015 NFC Champion Carolina Panthers on the road, and are then forced to travel to London to play the Dolphins before the Bye.
After voting in the polls, CSC readers believe the Saints to be 3-1 after the Saints first four games, with the only loss coming at the hands of Tom Brady and the Patriots, who look to spoil the Saints home opener.
The game Saints generally fan had the most confidence in, according to the poll, was actually the Week 4 game abroad against Ryan Tannehill and the Miami Dolphins. The narrowest win was away against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1.
The Saints will now have the Bye week to prepare for their Week 6 matchup against the Detroit Lions and get to look ahead against another NFC North opponent in Week 7, A-A-Ron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
