It was reported this morning that Saints CB Damian Swann is being put on the PUP list. The Atlanta, Georgia native has struggled with concussions since being drafted in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Damin Swann will start on PUP, per source— Nick Underhill (@nick_underhill) July 27, 2017
When healthy, Swann was seen as a potential nickel corner who showed promise at times. In 2015, Swann played in seven games (starting two) and record 4 pass deflections and 20 tackles. He suffered three concussions in the span of nine weeks that ended his 2015 season and he did play at all in 2016. He was placed on injured reserve in August 2016 for a core muscle injury.
Swann was placed on the PUP list for failing to pass his conditioning test. This is obviously not an encouraging sign, especially for a skill position player. We’ll keep you updated on this post with any updates.
