The New Orleans Saints look like they’ll be without their No. 2 wide receiver to open the season. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Willie Snead has been suspended for the first three games of the regular season.

According to multiple reports, the initial suspension was for 4 games due to a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted that it was from an offseason DUI. The suspension was reduced to 3 games, and Sean Payton confirmed the news.
It’s a major loss for Drew Brees and company, but perhaps one that they can overcome. Snead will miss games against the Vikings, Patriots, and Panthers. Snead was not present for last night’s game against the Ravens. This most assuredly means that the Saints will be keeping Tommylee Lewis and possibly another wide receiver to go into Week 1.
