Because the NFL is the NFL, we only have three late games set for Week 1.
- Indianapolis Colts at Los Angeles Rams
- Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers
- Carolina Panthers at San Francisco 49ers
Outside of the main draw for FOX, there’s some interest in what Cam Newton brings against John Lynch’s 49ers. The Panthers, being a season removed from appearing in the Super Bowl after going 15-1, had a very tough 6-10 season. While Saints fans and the rest of the NFC South are sure to revel in that, Ron Rivera’s squad is out to prove it was just a major fluke.
Out west, the Scott Tolzien vs. Jared Goff battle just can’t get anyone excited. Still, both squads are looking to start their season off on the right foot. Did you know Seattle hasn’t won up in Green Bay since 1999? Seven straight victories for the Pack at Lambeau against the Seahawks, so let the stat curses jinxes come. What’s the over/under on someone catching Eddie Lacy eating on the sideline again?
What are you watching for this afternoon?
