New Orleans fell to the Minnesota Vikings Monday 29-19. Both the offense and the defense seemed to struggle to find their footing. It was the Saints run defense that started off strong before the entire unit began to waiver towards the end, and the Saints offense couldn’t punch it into the end zone until the very end of the game.
For New Orleans, a team who led the NFL last year on 3rd down conversions, 3rd down was a difficult task to take on. The Saints would end up finishing 4/11 on 3rd downs. That is far lower a mark than what they were able to accomplish last season.
While the Vikings are certainly a good team many have come to expect the Drew Brees led Saints to be able to score, seemingly at will, against almost anyone. In the below video we take a look at why they fell short and how.
As always, thanks for watching everyone. What would you like to see in the next film study? Based on the above video, do you think the Saints will have a better chance to convert against the Patriots?
