Coming into Week 3, the entire NFC South was in action. The Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers, each with two wins and no losses so far, faced the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints respectively. The 1-0 Buccaneers were on the road against the Minnesota Vikings.
So what happened in Week 3?
The Saints had a good week.
The Saints win the first inter-divisional matchup of the season, putting a beating on the Panthers 34-13. The Buccaneers were the victim of a beating by the Vikings, losing 17-34. The Falcons held on for a win gifted to them by the referees, 30-26 against the Lions. As it stands now, the Falcons improve to 3-0, the Panthers drop to 2-1, the Saints improve to 1-2, and the Bucs even their record after the loss to 1-1.
Next week, the Saints travel across the pond to face the Miami Dolphins in an early game (for us locals) in London at 8:30am CST. The Panthers don’t have it any easier next week, travelin to Foxborough to face the defending Super Bowl Champion Patriots. The Falcons and Buccaneers have it a little easier next week, with the Falcons hosting the Bills and the Bucs hosting the winless Giants.
It’s still early, and reinforcements for the Saints are coming soon. One more week then the Bye.
Win, and let’s let the rest of the division take care of itself. #BeattheDolphins
