NFL: New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Here we’ll look at five major NFL news outlets and their weekly Power Rankings to see where the New Orleans Saints stack up week-to-week. Here’s where ESPN, CBS, Yahoo, Bleacher Report and NFL.com rank the Saints after their Week 3 trouncing of the Carolina Panthers.

ESPN - #24 (+/-)

Drew Brees: 60.8 Total QBR. This is the longest into a season Brees has gone without an interception, and the Saints are the only team in the NFL without a giveaway. With the least efficient defense in the league, the Saints will need Brees to be flawless. Let's see if Brees can continue protecting the ball against the Dolphins in London this week.

CBS - #22 (+4)

They might have saved their season with that impressive victory at Carolina. Where did they find the defense?

Yahoo - #24 (+2)

The defense looked entirely different than it did in the first two games, pressuring Cam Newton and forcing big turnovers. Now the question becomes, is that sustainable or was that a bigger reflection on Carolina’s offensive issues?

Bleacher Report - #17 (+3)

NFL - #19 (+6)

Division games are always unpredictable. But you should never overlook the pride of a team not willing to let the season slip away in September. On Sunday, all of Twitter was praising Drew Brees, who was brilliantly efficient, if not prolific, going 22 of 29 for 230 yards, three scores and no picks. Yet, the real stud -- or studs -- from the win over the Panthers: Dennis Allen's defense. Yes, Cam Newton might have stunk as bad as the sports peanut gallery is saying (43.8 passer rating), but someone had to play well enough to make the Carolina QB look inept. Allen's unit intercepted Newton three times, and when it was time to play catch-up, the Panthers simply couldn't answer. Quality, quality win.
