On Twitter Friday morning, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees let the world know of the team’s intention for the national anthem during Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

Brees said, “As a way to show respect to all, our Saints team will kneel in solidarity prior to the national anthem and stand together during the anthem.”

The team had multiple players sit during the national anthem ahead of their game against the Carolina Panthers, which has since divided their fanbase. Head coach Sean Payton told the media on Thursday that the team was looking to have a more organized plan, but things transpired at the last minute.

“The president’s speech came out and the next morning we were in team meetings and up eating pregame meal. I’m sure we’ll at some point we’ll have a chance to visit.”

When asked about the team anticipating being there a requirement to stand, Payton added, “I wouldn’t know that, another words I think that would be a question for Mr. Benson or a question for someone else, but I think we will have a plan, in regards to, how we are going to handle it.”
