Linebacker Adam Bighill, released by the Saints yesterday among their final roster moves to get to the mandatory 53-man roster, has re-signed to the team's practice squad this afternoon, according to sources.
A former CFL star, Bighill had 20 total tackles, a quarterback sack, and 1 interception among his credited statistics this preseason.
From my earlier Sunday column, I asked whether or not Bighill did enough to make the final roster. From the voting thus far, 94 percent of the responses were yes:
Bighill's play with each preseason game increased the fan's level of excitement, as he showed not only good sideline to sideline ability, but solid coverage skills as well. His 20 total tackles during preseason ranked among team leaders, and he added an interception and QB sack, while showing a penchant for always being around the ball. His play during New Orleans' final preseason game against the Ravens had many convinced that Bighill had earned a spot on the Saints opening day roster.
It's entirely possible for Bighill to get called up on the active roster and potentially see action in Week 1 should Stephone Anthony be unable to go.
