In our video film studies we typically focus on a player and his skill-set. Today, however, we’re going to do something a little different. The below film study focuses on a play type that didn’t see a lot of success under Brandin Cooks and hasn’t been a serious threat in a Sean Payton offense for some time.
End Arounds, Jet Sweeps, Tunnel Screens, Bubble Screens and any other in space play at the Line Of Scrimmage are heavily dependent on the the runner/receiver possessing one key attribute: Field Vision. Things like speed, agility and strength are needed as well, but if you can’t see where you’re going you can’t get very far.
Ted Ginn Jr. looks to be the next Saints weapon that can pull off these tricky plays and add another layer of fear into opposing defensive coordinators. Players like Reggie Bush and Devery Henderson were able to take these plays for big gains, and if preseason and training camp is any indication Ginn will be able to do the same.
Thanks for reading everyone. Who would you like to see the next film study done on? Please let us know in the comments section. Who Dat, and God Bless.
