The Saints and Monday Night Football: Not so hot lately

After being a juggernaut on Monday Night Football, the Saints have been pretty bad over the past few years.

It wasn’t so long ago that opponents didn’t necessarily stand a chance when they faced the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. In the Sean Payton era, the black and gold have had 18 appearances on the ESPN national stage. After splitting their first four games, the Saints rattled off nine straight victories, outscoring opponents 326-179.

Unfortunately, the past several meetings have not been kind to Payton’s squad, as the Saints have dropped four out of the last five matchups. Without question, they’ll be looking to start their season on the right foot when they take on the Vikings.

Here’s a look at how they’ve shaped out over the past decade.
