The New Orleans Saints may find themselves closing out the 2017 regular season winning another weekly award via running back Alvin Kamara. He’s up for the NFL’s Pepsi Rookie of the Week for his performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In a last-second loss, Kamara shined with 44 yards on the ground on nine carries, scoring a 7-yard touchdown in the process. He added six receptions for 84 yards, and a 106-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Kamara has won the award six times this season, while teammate Marshon Lattimore has taken the weekly title four times, most recently in Week 16. The team’s 10 awards are quite incredible, with the next closest team being the Green Bay Packers with three. Needless to say, New Orleans has had strong contributions from their rookie class, both drafted and undrafted.
He’s up against Pittsburgh’s Juju Smith-Schuster, Tampa’s Chris Godwin, Cincy’s Joe Mixon, and Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes. You can vote for Kamara here.
