Saints’ Alvin Kamara named 2017 VIZIO’s Top Value Performer

One would hope Alvin Kamara has a big trophy case at his residence.

On Tuesday morning, VIZIO announced that New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara took down their 2017 Top Value Performer (TVP) award. He beat out the likes of Davante Adams (Packers), Jerick McKinnon (Vikings), Alex Collins (Ravens), and Jordan Howard (Bears).

The award focuses on a football player who’s on-field performance most exceeds the base salary of their current contract, as voted on by the fans. Kamara’s rookie season produced over 1,500 yards from scrimmage and 14 total touchdowns, all on a base salary of $465,000 as a third-round pick. He was a huge component for the team turning their season around.

“I put in a lot of hard work this season, and it is humbling to have the fans recognize my efforts on the field by selecting me as this year’s VIZIO Top Value Performer,” said Kamara.

“I had the chance to compete against the other nominees every Sunday, and just knowing the amazing seasons each of them had makes it even more of an honor to be selected as the winner amongst such a great group of players.”
