If you’re a daily fantasy player, before each game I will look at three/four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results). Obviously, Saints QB Drew Brees is a safe QB for daily fantasy leagues, but spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.
So here are two Saints and two Redskins that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from Fanduel.)
RB Mark Ingram (NO) - $6,100
With Alvin Kamara lighting the world on fire through the season’s first four weeks and Mark Ingram’s early season suspension, he’s an incredible value play this week. Look for the Saints to feed Mark Ingram early and often, and you know Mark is just itching to get back into the end zone. Ingram is an incredible $3,000 cheaper than the most expensive RB available this week, his partner-in-crime, Alvin Kamara.
WR Michael Thomas (NO) - $8,900
Thomas isn’t as great of value as Ingram this week, coming only $100 cheaper than the most expensive WR available in daily fantasy, but he’s still a solid option. Drew Brees is set to break Peyton Manning’s all-time career passing yardage record on Monday, and Michael Thomas should be one of the primary receiving options in the New Orleans offense. Start MT confidently this week in daily fantasy.
WR Jamison Crowder (WAS) - $5,700
Crowder, on the other hand, is another great value play, coming $3,300 cheaper than the most expensive WR available this week. The Redskins’ primary slot receiver, Crowder will be looking to give PJ Williams and Ken Crawley fits all night. If or when Alex Smith is forced to exit the pocket and extend plays, look for Crowder to be one of his first reads on a scramble drill.
TE Jordan Reed (WAS) - $6,200
Another Redskins receiver that should have a big game against the Saints secondary is Jordan Reed. The bugaboo with Reed is, and has always been, health. Reed just seemingly cannot stay healthy for an entire season. Who knows what will happen later in the year, but right now, Reed is still healthy and ready to go. He’s a dynamic pass catcher as a tight end, and coming $1,700 cheaper than the most expensive TE in fantasy this week, he’s a great match-up play.
