NFL Picks Week 13: The Stars at Night are Big and Bright

Week 12 saw the Saints win their 10th consecutive game while sweeping their arch rivals. Now another primetime showdown awaits.  Let’s take a look at this and all of the Week 13 action.

The New Orleans Saints face the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas, looking to pick up their 11th consecutive win and clinch a playoff birth for the second consecutive season. Dallas is no cakewalk, and despite their pedestrian record they have picked up some solid wins in recent weeks, but the Saints are at another level right now.

The Saints have been at their best when the stage is biggest and the lights are brightest. Well, few stages are as big as JerryWorld™ and the lights are the brightest in primetime. Put these things together with a big win streak and a shot at a rival fanbase, and you've got a chance for a big Saints victory to kickoff Week 13. Let’s take a look at this game and all of the rest on the Week 13 schedule.

Last week I went 8-7

I told you so: Bucs over Niners!

What do I know: Panthers over Seahawks?

Thursday, November 29th - Thursday Night Football

Saints(10-1) at Cowboys(6-5)

Drew Brees and the Saints offense faces a challenge, no doubt, from Dallas’ top-ten defensive unit. While not as dominant as the Baltimore or Minnesota defenses the Saints defeated this season, this Dallas defense is very good, better against the run than the pass, but very formidable. Despite the challenge, the Saints are as dialed in, as balanced, and as dangerous an offense as Dallas has seen since midseason a year ago. These Saints can exploit Dallas in so many ways.

As much credit as the Saints offense gets, and deservedly so, it will be their defense that grabs the headlines in this game. The primary focus will be on stopping Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott, as he is the biggest part of the Cowboys offense. This Saints top-ranked rushing defense will be successful in this effort, holding Elliott to just 17 carries for 54 yards rushing. Taking away Elliott will put tremendous pressure on DaK Prescott and the Cowboys passing game, feeding right into the Saints hands.

The Saints are white-hot right now and their stars will shine brighter than the ones on their opponents’ helmets this evening. It will take a complete and well-coached team to break the roll they are on right now. Jason Garrett is not that coach, and the Dallas Cowboys are not that team. The Saints make it 11 wins straight, with the whole nation watching. Saints win 32-17.

Pick: Saints

Sunday, December 2nd - Early Games

Ravens(6-5) at Falcons(4-7)

Baltimore’s top-ranked defense will shut down Atlanta’s feeble running game, while also keeping Matt Ryan in check. On the other side, Lamar Jackson will have a great showing against the pathetic Atlanta defense. Baltimore wins 27-20.

Pick: Ravens

Panthers(6-5) at Buccaneers(4-7)

Tampa will get plenty of yards through the air against the Carolina defense, they just won't be able to convert them into points, though. Carolina wins 27-17.

Pick: Panthers

Bears(8-3) at Giants(3-8)

Chicago’s defense will steamroll the Giants on the road in this one. Chicago wins 23-17.

Pick: Bears

Bills(4-7) at Dolphins(5-6)

Miami get s enough from their running game to pick up the win at home over their AFC East rivals from Buffalo. Miami wins 23-16.

Pick: Dolphins

Colts(6-5) at Jaguars(3-8)

A big day from Andrew Luck will lead Indy to a routine win in Jacksonville. Indianapolis wins 29-10.

Pick: Colts

Browns(4-6-1) at Texans(8-3)

Deshaun Watson will have a big game over Cleveland, leading Houston to their ninth-straight win. Houston wins 29-12.

Pick: Texans

Broncos(5-6) at Bengals(5-6)

Denver wins their third-straight game, with an effortless win in Cincinnati. Denver wins 29-17.

Pick: Broncos

Rams(10-1) at Lions(4-7)

Los Angeles will overwhelm Detroit from the first drive, cruising to an easy victory in Motown. Los Angeles wins 49-17.

Pick: Rams

Cardinals(2-9) at Packers(4-6-1)

Aaron Rodgers won't need to do much to lead the Pack to victory in this one. It’ll be Green Bay’s defense and running game that dominate Arizona. Green Bay wins 32-14.

Pick: Packers

Sunday, December 2nd - Late Games

Chiefs(9-2) at Raiders(2-9)

One would think that Oakland’s familiarity with their AFC West rivals would keep them in this game. That person would be wrong. Kansas City will dismantle the Raiders. Kansas City wins 44-23.

Pick: Chiefs

Jets(3-8) at Titans(5-6)

The ground games will be the story of this game, but Tennessee’s defense will be too much for the Jets to handle. Tennessee wins 23-10.

Pick: Titans

49ers(2-9) at Seahawks(6-5)

Russell Wilson will have a big game at home against the Niners. Seattle wins 36-12.

Pick: Seahawks

Vikings(4-6-1) at Patriots(8-3)

New England’s defense will have one of their most inspired performances of the season, shutting down Minnesota on the ground and forcing Kirk Cousins to be one-dimensional on offense. The Pats will beat the Vikings defense by gaining small chunks of yardage at a time, rather than trying to beat them with big plays. New England’s offensive balance will beat them via death by a 1,000 paper cuts. New England wins 27-17.

Pick: Patriots

Sunday Night Football

Chargers(8-3) at Steelers(7-3-1) - Game of the Week

Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger have been two of the AFC’s top quarterbacks of the last decade, and they will be as good as expected in this one. While both of these defenses are very good, they will be under attack throughout this game. Ultimately, this one will come down to the running games. Without Melvin Ingram, the Chargers will struggle on the ground, while James Conner will be the hero for the Steelers. Home field and a late, game-winning field goal will be the difference for the Steelers in this game. Pittsburgh wins 29-27.

Pick: Steelers

Monday, December 3rd- Monday Night Football

Redskins(6-5) at Eagles(5-6)

Washington just doesn't have the pieces to run with Philly. Once this game gets away from them, it’ll be over in a hurry. Philadelphia wins 32-20.

Pick: Eagles

There it is, Week 13 of the NFL season. The Saints can make it an astonishing 11 wins in a row this week against Dallas, which would really make a great thing even better! Leave us your picks, comments, and insight below!
