4 daily fantasy players from Week 16: Saints vs Steelers

Four players for your daily fantasy lineups.

If you’re a daily fantasy player, before each game I will look at three/four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results).

Obviously, Saints QB Drew Brees is a safe QB for daily fantasy leagues, but spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.

So here are two Saints and two Steelers that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from Fanduel.)

QB Drew Brees (NO) - $8,400

Drew Brees has had three mediocre (or less than mediocre) games in a row now. That has caused his cost in daily fantasy to drop. He’s now the fifth most expensive QB in daily fantasy. Now that the New Orleans offense will be back in the Dome, and hopefully with the return of Ted Ginn Jr., Brees should be back to MVP-caliber production.

RB Alvin Kamara (NO) - $8,100

Drew isn’t the only Saint to be the victim of a few bad games. Kamara himself has looked to be dealing with a nagging injury, even if it hasn’t made the injury report. Hopefully he too will benefit from getting back on the Dome, and at $1,500 cheaper than the most expensive RB available in daily fantasy this week, Kamara could be in a for a big game.

WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT) - $8,000

Despite missing out on the Pro Bowl (like Kamara above), JuJu has had a great 2018. Antonio Brown is likely to be lined up against Marshon Lattimore most of the game, leaving Eli Apple the unenviable task of guarding Smith-Schuster. JuJu is only $800 cheaper than the most expensive WR available this week, but he could have a big night in a high-scoring affair.

TE Vance McDonald - $5,500

This one is primarily a value play. McDonald is $2,200 cheaper than the most expensive tight end available this week, and is the third receiving option in Pittsburgh’s high-flying air attack. That means McDonald is likely lined up against PJ Williams in the slot, and even if only in garbage time, could find the end zone and produce great production for the cost.
