The New Orleans Saints (13-2) close out their 2018 regular season by hosting their NFC South rival, the Carolina Panthers (6-9), at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for a noon kickoff. Week 17 isn’t totally meaningless for the NFC’s No. 1 seed, as they can set a franchise record for most wins in a season. It’s the 49th time these two meet, which includes one postseason contest from last year. The all-time series is tied 24-24.
Teddy Bridgewater officially gets the start for Sean Payton’s squad, which is sure to draw some interest from outsiders. Bridgewater is sure to be a hot commodity, assuming he hits the free agent market. However, that remains to be seen.
The Saints are sure to march out a lot of their reserves on Sunday, in what has the making of a fourth preseason game on the surface. Of course, New Orleans has a lot of depth in their arsenal, so we should still get an entertaining showing. Kyle Allen, an undrafted rookie from Houston, will get the start for Ron Rivera and company.
