Two quarters down, and it’s been all Panthers in New Orleans.

The final regular season game for the New Orleans Saints has had the feeling of the last preseason game. The Carolina Panthers have been in the driver’s seat for most of the game, as they have a commanding 23-0 lead over the black and gold at halftime.

New Orleans trotted out their full defensive array of starters, and saw undrafted rookie quarterback Kyle Allen help his team march down the field for two touchdown drives, including the game’s opening possession. The second touchdown saw Chandler Catanzaro miss the extra point, as the Panthers took a 13-0 lead after the Saints punted. Their third touchdown drive saw Allen connect with Ian Thomas at the 2-minute warning to take a 20-0 lead.

Both Teddy Bridgewater and Mark Ingram had pretty decent quarters, but the offense went stale when it counted the most. New Orleans will get the ball to start the second half, as they try to set a franchise record for most regular season wins in a year.
