Snead, a restricted free agent, has been given a free agent tender by the Saints. If he were to be offered a contract by the Ravens, or any other team, New Orleans would have one week to match the offer to retain him. However, if the Saints do not match the offer, they will not recieve any compensation in return.

The 25-yr. old Snead has played three seasons with the Saints. He averaged 939 yards receiving on 141 total receptions and had 7 touchdowns in his first two seasons, but disappointed a year ago, finishing with only 8 catches for 92 yards. The Ravens continue to try and improve their passing attack, which ranked just 29th a year ago. They had signed free agent Ryan Grant, but the offer was voided after Grant failed a physical. Baltimore then signed free agent wideouts John Brown (Cardinals) and Michael Crabtree (Raiders), in an effort to improve a mediocre receiving corps for quarterback Joe Flacco.
