Kamrin Moore Could Be the Next Key Special Teamer

New, comments

But he has the potential to be even Moore.

NCAA Football: Wake Forest at Boston College Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Saints drafted Kamrin Moore out of Boston College late in the 2018 NFL Draft. While he’s not expected to contribute right away on defense, he could make an immediate impact on special teams.

A.J. Black of SB Nation’s page for Boston College, BC Interruption, took some quick time to answer a few questions for Saints to get to know one of their late-round 2018 draft picks.

Did you expect Kamrin Moore to get drafted in the 2018 NFL Draft? Do you think the 6th Round is a steal, reach, or fair value?

I thought it would be a 50/50 chance that Kamrin “Kam” Moore would be drafted this year. He was a solid corner for the Eagles, had a few big plays. I expected him to get drafted in the 6th or 7th. I feel like the Saints got good market value for him.

The Saints are deep at CB right now, and Moore looks destined for a Special Teams role, at least initially. Does Moore look like this a role he could excel in?

Yes, Boston College head coach Steve Addazio praised Moore for his ability to be a competitor. I imagine that he will do whatever is asked of him and do a damn good job at it too

What would you say is the strongest part of Moore’s game?

He’s a tenacious press defender who does whatever he can to disrupt a receiver’s route. Technically he has good technique and it can be hard for receivers to break away.

Where could he look most to improve?

He doesn’t have elite speed, and can be burned by good receivers. While he made a huge play for the Eagles last year, he only had two interceptions in his career at the Heights.

What type of career do you project Moore to have in the NFL?

I think he’ll be a serviceable special teamer. He works really hard, and he will have to, especially if he wants to play corner.
