4 daily fantasy players from the Saints and Browns matchup

If you’re a daily fantasy player, before each game I will look at three/four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results). Obviously, Saints QB Drew Brees is a safe QB for daily fantasy leagues, but spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.

So here are three Saints and one Brown that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from Fanduel.)

QB Drew Brees (NO) - $8,800

Brees is actually the most expensive QB in daily fantasy in Week 2’s Sunday games, coming in $100 more expensive than Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers. Regardless, he’s still a solid play for daily fantasy, even against a Cleveland Browns that turned Ben Roethlisberger over multiple times in Week 1. Start Brees with confidence.

WR Josh Gordon (CLE) - $6,300

This is an incredible value play here. Gordon is $2,600 cheaper than the most expensive WR available, and we saw the Saints struggle against opposing wide receivers last week. In fact, the Saints struggled against big and fast receivers like Mike Evans, and that is just what Josh Gordon is. On top of that, Gordon is one of the top red zone threats on the Browns, so whether its in yards or sniffing the end zone, Gordon should put up respectable numbers this week.

TE Benjamin Watson (NO) - $5,100

Watson showed in Week 1 that while he’s not going to get near the amount of targets per game he saw in his first stint in New Orleans, he’s still one of Drew’s favorite and most trusted targets when the Saints need a key conversion. At $1,700 cheaper than the most expensive tight end available, Watson is only a few hundred dollars more expensive than the cheapest starting tight ends in the NFL.

Saints DST (vs CLE) - $4,000

I’m banking on a solid bounce-back campaign for the Saints in Week 2. After an abysmal performance the Buccaneers in Week 1, the price of the Saints DST in daily fantasy couldn’t get much lower. It’s a risky play absolutely, but one that could pay dividends.
