4 daily fantasy players from the Saints and Falcons matchup

Four players for your daily fantasy leagues.

NFL: Cleveland Browns at New Orleans Saints Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

If you’re a daily fantasy player, before each game I will look at three/four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results). Obviously, Saints QB Drew Brees is a safe QB for daily fantasy leagues, but spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.

So here are three Falcons and one Saint that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from Fanduel.)

QB Matt Ryan (ATL) - $7,700

The New Orleans Saints defense has struggled against the pass through the season’s first two games. The Atlanta Falcons lost their between-the-tackles runner in Devonta Freeman for at least another week, but they have an elite group of receivers. It’s setting up for a big day for Matt Ryan, regardless of the final score, and at $1,200 cheaper than the most expensive QB available, he’s a great value.

RB Alvin Kamara (NO) - $8,700

Kamara is only $600 cheaper than the most expensive RB available this week, but he’s still a solid starting option. The Falcons are also going to be without a couple of key defensive players, and Kamara should be able to take advantage. He’s the #2 option in the passing game right now and the #1 option running the ball in the New Orleans offense, and he should put up big numbers for the third week in a row.

WR Calvin Ridley (ATL) - $5,000

Marshon Lattimore seemed to take a big step forward in Week 2, but Ken Crawley was still the victim of numerous big plays. With Lattimore likely lined up against Julio Jones, that leaves Crawley on the duo of Ridley and Mohamed Sanu. Ridley could be in line for a lot of targets if Ryan is forced to check down from Julio, and at a whopping $4,000 cheaper than the most expensive WR available, he’s an absolute steal.

TE Austin Hooper (ATL) - $5,200

Hopper is another Falcons pass-catcher that could be in line for a solid game. Here, it’s really all about the value, as he $2,900 cheaper than the most expensive TE available in daily fantasy this week. At that price, he won’t need spectacular numbers to justify this price.
