Chase Holden’s Fantasy Football Start’ Em and Sit’ Em: Saints Vs. Giants

Saints Fantasy Football Starts and Sits for Week 4.

What’s good, Who Dat Nation!? I hope you’ve all had an amazing week celebrating the road win against those pesky Falcons of Atlanta. The Saints had some amazing fantasy production out of Drew Brees last week, and it’s safe to say that he’s not slowing down anytime soon. That man was on FIRE! He Put up 3 TDs and 396 passing yards, and as a bonus had 2 rushing TDs. I’m convinced that No. 9 is out here aging like Benjamin Button (He was from New Orleans, you know). So now, the black and gold are traveling to East Rutherford, New Jersey to take on the New York Football Giants, and I see another huge fantasy day in the making.

As a reminder before we get to business, all of my work will be based on PPR leagues, and obvious starters like Alvin Kamara, Drew Brees and Michael Thomas will not be written about. Each week, I will evaluate both teams and list my picks from the match ups.

Eli Manning - (NYG) - Remember back in 2015 when the Giants came to the Superdome and helped create one of the most exciting games of the season? If not, you need to head over to YouTube and watch those highlights NOW! Manning is not your every week starting QB, but against the Saints defense this week, he is a must start for those who stream QBs in any league. My guess is that Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard should see the end zone multiple times, so if you have them you might as well play them too.

Cameron Meredith (NO) - Now that the first touchdown is out of the way for Meredith, I definitely see him getting more productive in this offense. I predicted that the rookie Tre’Quan Smith would have been more involved after comments that Coach Sean Payton made last week, but it’s looking like they’re going with more of the sure thing in Meredith. This game is going to be another shootout, so in your 14-16 man leagues, it makes since to give this guy a roster spot and start him against this average defense.

Benjamin Watson (NO) - The Giants are only giving up 4.7 points on average to the TE position this year, and I believe that trend continues on Sunday. Watson is going to have his time soon, but because of the Saints defense keeping “The Big Easy Trio” (Brees, Kamara, Thomas) on their toes, the ball isn’t getting around to many other players. Stash him away this week and let him age like fine wine. We know what Watson is capable of.

Rhett Ellison (NYG) - Since Evan Ingram is out healing up, Ellison has came in to take his place. The back up TE had a pretty decent outing last week against the Texans, but don’t expect it this week. As it turns out, the one thing the Saints and Giants defense have in common is how well they are covering the TE position this year. The Saints are only allowing 4.8 fantasy points, which is too close to trust any tight end in this week’s matchup. I myself am an Evan Ingram owner, and I turned to another option this week (He’s playing against the Jets) because of these numbers.

I hope you all enjoy your NFL Sunday, and be sure to yell WHO DAT at every person you can to remind them that although our defense is slacking we are very much still in this!
