Week 1 is finally here for the New Orleans Saints, as they are at home to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a noon kickoff to open the season. Here’s a look at the inactive list for Sean Payton’s squad:

  • WR Cameron Meredith
  • OG Andrus Peat
  • DL Mitchell Loewen
  • CB P.J. Williams
  • OL Will Clapp
  • DT Taylor Stallworth
  • TE Dan Arnold

Meredith was among several players on the active roster that were jogging with the practice squad before warmups got underway. Andrus Peat has been dealing with a quad issue, and was questionable on the team’s final injury report. Either Josh LeRibeus or Cameron Tom will start in his spot.

Jonathan Williams, who was recently called up from the practice squad on Saturday, is one of the three running backs the Saints will have in their lineup. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted this morning that Austin Carr would be handling starting duties in the slot.
