After an entertaining slate of early games, we’re treated to four late kickoffs in NFL Week 1. Here’s a look at all of the matchups, with three getting underway at 3:25 p.m. CT.
- Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers (3:05 p.m. CT kickoff)
- Washington Redskins at Arizona Cardinals
- Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers
- Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos
Most should expect to see the Cowboys and Panthers, which has a FOX spotlight with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling the game. Obviously, there will be some intrigue there for Saints fans because of the NFC South race.
The Cardinals start without Bruce Arians, as the Steve Wilks regime kicks off. They’ll host Adrian Peterson, who was traded to Arizona by the Saints early last season. It’s hard to call that a revenge game, of course. However, there’s a new face at quarterback for the Redskins in Alex Smith, so that should be mildly entertaining to keep tabs on. Also, keep an eye on Antonio Gates returning to the Chargers.
