Buccaneers 31 Saints 24: Second Half Open Thread

Where’s the defense?!?!

So far it’s mostly been the Buccaneers defense that’s shown up. The Saints can’t seem to stop either the run or the pass.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, 11 for 14, 210 yds and 2 TDs passing and picking up another 15 yards rushing with a TD. They also picked up another 53 yards rushing by Peyton Barker, and Jacquizz Rodgers. They appear to be able to run at will against the Saint defense.

The Saints Offense has mostly done it’s part. Drew Brees, 17 for 21, 238, yards, and 2 TDs. The Saints have also rushed for 43 yards on 11 attempts. Unfortunately, and it’s the difference between a tie game and the Tampa lead, a Mike Gillislee fumble which the Bucs returned for a TD. Alvin Kamara has 83 receiving yards and 1 rushing TD.

So while it may look bad to some fans, I caution everyone to relax. It’s just a one touchdown game going into half time. The Buccaneers do get the ball first in the second half after deferring the opening kickoff.
