After Benjamin Watson announced his retirement following the 2018 NFL season, the New Orleans Saints acted quickly to extend fellow tight end Josh Hill for the next three seasons:
Sources: the Saints have signed TE Josh Hill to a three-year, $8.85M extension through 2021.

Contrary to what some on the Twitter-verse have been saying, this is not a signing that would otherwise prevent the Saints from attempting to address the tight end position via the 2019 NFL Draft or upcoming free agency. Hill, a capable pass-catcher, is a valuable player both in the blocking game and on special teams.

So the Saints have effectively agreed to pay almost $9 million to Josh Hill to be a backup tight end for the foreseeable future. What are your thoughts? Vote in the poll. Explain in the comments. Send me presents.
