The New Orleans Saints signed former Saints CB Patrick Robinson in the offseason with the hopes that Robinson would be able to replicate his success defending the slot that he found as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
When Robinson went down due to season-ending injury, back-up PJ Williams was asked to fill in that role. Williams, who struggled for large portions of 2017 as an outside corner, performed admirably in the slot in 2018, leaving many Saints fans forgetting that Robinson had ever been signed to address the need in the first place.
But now Williams has already gotten his offseason off to a rough start.
Saints cornerback P.J. Williams arrested on drunk-driving allegations in New Orleans | https://t.co/owTgP4w89d— Ramon Antonio Vargas (@RVargasAdvocate) January 23, 2019
If you will recall, it was a drunk driving arrest that signed the beginning of the end for former Saints WR Willie Snead in New Orleans.
Hopefully PJ is able to handle his situation better. There is no word on any possible repercussion from the league as of yet. Stay tuned for more details.
