Buccaneers vs. Saints: Week 5 Thursday injury report

Trey Hendrickson was the only player not spotted at practice, while Drew Brees was around.

It’s Thursday, which means we have the second injury report of Week 5 for the New Orleans Saints, who are preparing to face off with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 55th time in franchise history on Sunday. The lead the all-time series 33-21. Here’s a look at who did and didn’t practice for the black and gold today.

Did Not Practice

  • QB Drew Brees (right thumb)
  • DE Trey Hendrickson (neck)

Limited

  • WR Tre’Quan Smith (ankle)
  • DB J.T. Gray (hand)
  • OL Will Clapp (hand)
  • S Vonn Bell (back)
  • DE Cameron Jordan (calf)
  • LG Andrus Peat (thigh)

Per The Athletic’s Katherine Terrell, Brees was spotted in a red non-contact jersey working on gripping a football with his throwing hand and tossing/catching the football with his other hands alongside the other Saints quarterbacks. Terrell added that Brees looked thrilled to be back at practice. Wednesday’s injury report listed the same players, but Gray was upgraded over yesterday.

As for the Buccaneers, they had Shaquil Barrett (groin), Chris Godwin (hip) as limited participants, while Devin White (knee) was upgraded to full.
