After a successful 6-game winning streak, the New Orleans Saints have reason to be concerned after Week 10. Here’s how it all went down:
In Week 10, the third place Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-6) hosted the Arizona Cardinals (3-5-1) while the first place New Orleans Saints (7-1) hosted the last place Atlanta Falcons (1-7) in the Sunday early kickoffs. Sunday afternoon, the second place Carolina Panthers (5-3) played the Green Bay Packers (7-2) in Green Bay.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to hold on late to end a four-game skid with a 30-27 victory over the Cardinals to improve to 3-6. Sunday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers were the victim of Aaron Rodgers’s bounce-back game as the Panthers fell to the Packers 24-16 to fall to 5-4. In the upset of the week - and possibly the season - the one-loss New Orleans Saints were blown out at home by the one-win Falcons 26-9. The game improved the Falcons to 2-7 while the Saints fell to 7-2.
Importantly for the Saints, the division standings were left unchanged and they still have a two-game lead over the Panthers in the NFC South.
In Week 11, the games are within the division. The first place Saints are on the road to face the third place Buccaneers while the second place Panthers host the fourth place Falcons.
The Saints need a win against Tampa to help put everyone’s mind at ease.
