The Saints signed former Arizona Cardinals safety D.J. Swearinger to the team today after placing Saquan Hampton on injured reserve and questions still surrounding Vonn Bell’s injury.
Sean Fazende of Fox8 was first to report:

In a corresponding move to make room on the roster, safety T.J. Green was released.
Swearinger was a second round pick in 2013 out of the University of South Carolina by the Houston Texans. Since then he has bounced around between the Arizona Cardinals (twice), Washington Redskins, and was most recently with the Oakland Raiders.
The past two games have seen the secondary suffer injuries by safeties Bell and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. The signing of Swearinger could mean that one or both players may be out for an extended period of time.
