Rams 6 Saints 3 Second Half Game Thread

Drew Brees leaves this one early with a thumb injury. Questionable to return.

Rams win coin toss and defer. Saints start on their 25. 5 plays later Jared Cook loses a easy pass leading to an interception. Seven plays and 57 yards later the rams settle for 3.

Saints start again at the 25 and punt 4 plays later. Drew Brees is hit in his throwing hand and is out of the game.

Rams start at the 8 and punt after 6 plays.

Teddy Bridgewater is the Saints quarterback. Six plays later with several penalties called against the Saints Thomas Morstead punts again.

2nd quarter the Rams start at the 14. They go 3 and out. Punt.

Saints start at the Rams 41. Seven plays later the Saints settle for 3. Tie game. Bridgewater is starting to settle in nicely. Penalties continue to haunt the Saints as well as dropped passes. Even one by normally sure handed Michael Thomas.

Rams start at the 25. Rams drive down into the redzone aided by a PI call against Eli Apple. A block in the back penalty on the Rams negates a TD. Jared Goff fumbles the ball, knocked out by David Onyemata and Cam Jordan scoops it and runs it in. The whistle however blows and they call an incomplete pass. Sean Payton challenges. The call is over turned but the TD doesn’t count.

Saints start at the 13. Six plays later Saints go for it on 4th down at the 48 and turn it over on downs.

From the 48 Todd Gurley picks up a 1st down to the Saints 29. Two minute warning. Saints hold the Rams to a fieldgoal and go into the half down 6 to 3.
