Humphrey impressed in preseason after signing with the team out of the University of Texas, hauling in 4 receptions for 103 yards and one touchdown.
Linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong was signed to fill a void left on the depth chart with Alex Anzalone also landing on injured reserve. Armstrong, also an UDFA, came out of the University of Miami in 2013. He has spent time with the Rams, Raiders, 49ers, Giants, and most recently the Cleveland Browns. Ray-ray has had 2 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, recovered 3 fumbles, and 3 interceptions during his stint in the NFL.
Meanwhile, the team released defensive back Terrell Williams Jr. from the practice squad in order to resign former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett IV, who spent most of last season on the practice squad for the Saints.
Humphrey’s promotion to the active roster opened another spot on the practice squad, allowing the Saints to sign wide receiver Krishawn Hogan. Hogan is entering his third year in the league after spending time with the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts.
