SB Nation’s FanPulse results are out for Week 1, which currently has New Orleans Saints fans super confident going into the new season. FanPulse focuses on being a voice of the fanatic through weekly polls centering around the state of the team and any pressing hot topics around the NFL. This week’s national question asked which football team had the best chance from going worst to first in their division this season, and it’s good news for Jacksonville Jaguars fans!

Current Confidence Level - 95% (previously 93%)

This looks to be a Saints team that you should be confident in. Naturally, the division competition should be better in the NFC South, and New Orleans has a tough stretch right out of the gate facing the Texans (MNF), Rams, Seahawks, and Cowboys (SNF) in the month of September. Still, this Sean Payton-led team has the makings of what promises to be another special season. Don’t let the first week tell you much, however, as the Saints have lost five straight season openers and are just 5-8 since 2006 in those contests.

Historical Outlook

  • Preseason Week 1 - 93%
  • Post-draft - 96%
  • Pre-draft - 96%
  • Free agency - 96%
  • End of season - 100%

NFC South Confidence Levels

I’d hate to be the Panthers or Buccaneers, and is it right with all of the Falcons optimism?
