The first New Orleans Saints injury report of 2019 is here, and we’re that much closer to football folks. Here’s how the black and gold look ahead of Week 1’s Monday Night Football matchup against the Houston Texans, which is relatively encouraging.
Did Not Practice
Mario Edwards Jr. (hamstring)
Limited Practice
Zach Line (knee)
Craig Robertson (hamstring)
Alex Anzalone (shoulder)
Sheldon Rankins (Achilles)
Full Participant
Dwayne Washington (ankle/concussion)
Seeing Robertson in a limited capacity is encouraging given that there was fear of his injury being more serious after he reportedly told athletic trainers that he felt like he heard something pop against the Chargers. If Mario Edwards Jr. doesn’t improve, then it may mean that undrafted rookie Shy Tuttle will make his debut with a limited interior line rotation with Malcom Brown and Taylor Stallworth — remember that David Onyemata is suspended for the first game.
For the Texans, the most notable name on their injury report was Keke Coutee (ankle), who was a limited participant.
