The Saints are one of the odds-on favorites, plus the leading fan favorite in the NFC.

SB Nation has continued their FanPulse confidence poll all season, and after a 42-10 trouncing of the division rival Carolina Panthers, confidence in the New Orleans Saints remains high.

It’s no surprise then, that for the fifth time since Week 1, fans showed 100% confidence in the New Orleans Saints. Only two teams ended Week 17 with a 100% fan confidence: the Saints and the Baltimore Ravens. Only the Ravens had more weeks at 100% fan confidence with eight straight such weeks since Week 10.

But that isn’t the only thing connecting the Saints and Ravens right now. In SB Nation’s FanPulse survey, NFL fans were asked which team they most wanted to see reach Super Bowl LIV in Miami on February 2, 2020. Here are the results:

  1. New Orleans Saints — 33.5%
  2. San Francisco 49ers — 24.2%
  3. Minnesota Vikings — 14.4%
  4. Seattle Seahawks — 9.8%
  5. NFC East champion (now the Philadelphia Eagles) — 9.2%
  6. Green Bay Packers — 9.0%

That means even over the large-market 49ers and the Aaron Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers, it is the New Orleans Saints that fans want to see reach the Super Bowl in the NFC, likely due to the team being kept out last year’s Super Bowl due to a non-call on pass interference against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game.

In the AFC:

  1. Baltimore Ravens — 37.0%
  2. Kansas City Chiefs — 27.4%
  3. Buffalo Bills — 17.3%
  4. New England Patriots — 7.5%
  5. Last Wild Card team (now the Tennessee Titans) — 6.0%
  6. Houston Texans — 4.9%

Maybe Ravens and Saints fans have a reason to feel confident right now. NFL fans across the league want to see these two teams reach the Super Bowl out of their respective conferences.

Here’s to hoping all of that confidence isn’t in vain.
