NFL Picks Week 6: Rest For The Weary

The Saints bye week may be upon us but there is still plenty to keep an eye on throughout the rest of the league in Week 6. Let’s take a look at all of this week’s action.

The New Orleans Saints go into the bye week with a 3-2 record and find themselves precariously in the driver’s seat in the NFC South. Coming off a razor-close win at home on Monday Night, the team and the fans are thankful the bye is upon us, as it will be good to get some rest for the players with a pair of huge divisional games looming large over the next three weeks.

With the Saints off the schedule this week, we will focus on the the rest of the Week 6 action. There are plenty of storylines to follow this week, and plenty of teams to root against. Let’s take a look at this and all of the upcoming Week 6 action.

Last week I went 9-5

I told you so: Browns over Colts!

What do I know: 49ers over Dolphins?

WEEK 6

Thursday, October 15th - Thursday Night Football

Rescheduled to Monday afternoon

***

Sunday, October 18th - Early Games

Broncos(1-3) at Patriots(2-2)

It took a week, but here we are. Denver is flat-out terrible and are lucky to have the one win they do have. The Broncos defense will strain trying tho hold back Cam Newton and the Patriots offense, which they will fail at. The Patriots defense will face little resistance from the garbage Broncos offense. New England wins 28-13.

Pick: Patriots

***

Texans(1-4) at Titans(4-0)

Deshaun Watson will do all he can but it won't be enough, as Tennessee’s confidence is spreading rapidly without any signs of containment. Tennessee wins 28-19.

Pick: Titans

***

Browns(4-1) at Steelers(4-0)

It’s strength on strength in this divisional showdown as Cleveland’s top-ranked rushing attack takes on Pittsburgh’s top-ranked defense. This will be a deeply physical and personal game between these two as they continue to jockey for position atop the AFC North, along with Baltimore. It will ultimately come down to The Browns defense making the big stops against the Steelers running game. Cleveland wins 17-14.

Pick: Browns

***

Ravens(4-1) at Eagles(1-3-1)

Baltimore’s multi-dimensional rushing attack will be too much for Philly to handle in the end. Baltimore wins 31-21.

Pick: Ravens

***

Washington FT(1-4) at Giants(0-5)

The Giants passing game will have a big day, carrying them to a win over Washington. Giants win 33-19.

Pick: Giants

***

Falcons(0-5) at Vikings(1-4)

This is the Underachiever Bowl of 2020, as both of these teams should have been far better than they are. Both defenses have been simply atrocious, but Minnesota has the better day here. Minnesota wins 27-14.

Pick: Vikings

***

Lions(1-3) at Jaguars(1-4)

Detroit’s defense will shut down the Jacksonville passing game in this one. Detroit wins 28-17.

Pick: Lions

***

Bengals(1-3-1) at Colts(3-2)

Indy’s stout defense will be too much for Joe Burrow and Cincy to contend with. Indianapolis wins 29-17.

Pick: Colts

***

Bears(4-1) at Panthers(3-2)

Just like he did a season ago, Teddy Bridgewater will ruthlessly pick apart the Chicago defense, leading Carolina to a huge win in the conference standings. Carolina wins 20-17.

Pick: Panthers

***

Sunday, October 18th - Late Games

Jets(0-5) at Dolphins(2-3)

Coming off their biggest win in ages, it’s natural for there to be a letdown for Miami, especially when facing the Jets, but they’ll still win all the same. Miami wins 24-20.

Pick: Dolphins

***

Packers(4-0) at Buccaneers(3-2) - Game of the Week

It’s Aaron Rodgers vs Tom Brady in this one, and both quarterbacks may need to wear earplugs to deal with all the fawning and praise that will be coming from the announcers and the media for these two. Despite all the nauseating bootlicking that will be happening to these two quarterbacks, this will be a very good game. Surprisingly, it will not be the play of either quarterback that will be the difference in this game. Ultimately, it will be Tampa’s run game that makes the plays needed to secure victory for the home team, handing the Packers their first loss of the season. Tampa wins 26-23.

Pick: Buccaneers

***

Sunday Night Football

Rams(4-1) at 49ers(2-3)

San Francisco continues to expose their true selves as the season move on, and against their first true test of the season, they will fail miserably. Los Angeles wins 45-21.

Pick: Rams

***

Monday, October 19th - Monday Afternoon Football

Chiefs(4-1) at Bills(4-1)

Buffalo is fresh off a Tuesday night spanking, and now comes a Kansas City team coming off their own stunning loss last week. My money is on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs rebounding first here. Kansas City wins 32-30.

Pick: Chiefs

***

Monday, October 19th - Monday Night Football

Cardinals(3-2) at Cowboys(2-3)

Andy Dalton certainly won't be a disaster starting in place of Dak Prescott, he’ll just be Andy Dalton. Kyler Murray will outshine Dalton in his old college stomping grounds. Arizona wins 28-17.

Pick: Cardinals
